Kevin Hegge

Kevin Hegge is a filmmaker, curator, freelance writer, and the founder of Mixed Blood Media. He is based in Toronto, Canada.

Hegge’s work focuses on documenting art, and provokes the reassessment of the institutions of history, politics, and sexuality. His first feature length film, a documentary about the Toronto-based feminist post-punk group Fifth Column was called SHE SAID BOOM. The film premiered at the 2012 Hot Docs festival in Toronto, and later won Best Canadian Film at Inside Out LGBT Film festival.

Hegge’s second feature, Tramps! (2022), explores the collision of art, fashion, and music as punk gave way to the New Romantics in London. The film premiered as the closing night gala at BFI Flare and the central gala at Inside Out Toronto, earned rave reviews from Screen Daily, and holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Tramps! was released in 2023–24 by Bohemia Media (UK), Game Theory Films (Canada), and Good Deed Entertainment (USA).
